Thomas Geffrier est photographe, réalisateur et plasticien.

Après des études de graphisme, il travaille dans l'agence de presse Rapho, puis devient producteur, et collabore avec de nombreux photographes, dont Mark Seliger, David LaChapelle, Nadav Kander ou encore Peter Lindbergh.

En 2003, il entame sa carrière de photographe, tournée vers le portrait, et travaille régulièrement pour plusieurs magazines, dont Les Inrocks, Le Wad, Première, Studio, Libération et M Le Monde, ainsi qu’avec des maisons de disque.

Laissant de plus en plus de place à une photographie plasticienne, Thomas travaille aujourd’hui sur des séries regroupées dans des collections. Au travers d'une photographie systématique et répétitive, il nous parle de l'être et du paraître, et s'interroge sur « l’individu et ses interactions, entre rôle social et identité ».

Bien qu'il soit majoritairement produit en numérique, son travail ne fait l'objet d'aucune post-production. Tout ce qui est visible sur ses images l'était à la prise de vue.

Thomas Geffrier is a photographer, a director and a plastic artist.

After studying graphism, he works in the press agency Rapho, then becomes a producer, and collaborates with numerous Photographers, such as Mark Seliger, David LaChapelle, Nadav Kander or Peter Lindbergh.

He begins is career as a photographer in 2003, and steadily works for several magazines, including Les Inrocks, Le Wad, Premiere, Studio, Liberation and M Le Monde, as well as with record companies.

Leaving more and more room for plastic photography, Thomas works today on series grouped together in collections. Through a systematic and repetitive photography, he talks about being and appearing, and questions "the individual and his interactions, between social role and identity".

‘All in camera’

Although mostly done digitally, his work is not subject to any post-production. Everything that is visible in his pictures was as it shows when they were taken.
