Bien que l’inclusivité recherchée par le marketing fasse peu à peu évoluer dans le bon sens les standards de la beauté établis par l’hégémonie masculine, le discours et l’iconographie de la mode et de la publicité sont toujours injonction faite aux femmes d’être ‘belles et désirables’ : il faut paraître pour pouvoir être.

 

A travers une sorte d’exercice de style, altérant la beauté de la comédienne Caroline Gay - ma compagne - par des processus formels réalisés à la prise de vue et sans faire appel à la retouche, la collection Altered interroge notre rapport à la beauté et à sa représentation.

My body eclectic, première série de cette collection, présente des autoportraits « automutilés » et a inspiré la suite de ce travail.
